Here is a photograph of a sweet Himachali Couple. Typically Himachali Marriages happen in three days with lots of ceremonies at Bride's as well as Groom's place. On first day (Maaine), relatives and friends start arriving. Some celebrations happen during the evening of the first day and this night is considered as very special for youngsters (probably a simpler version of bachelor's party :) ). Next day is more about formal gatherings, pooja and Barat. The Second Night is typically the time when actual marriage takes place. The Third day is celebrated in different ways in various parts of Himachal. In Kangra, it's called as 'Chhod' and 'Dham' is also commonly used in Hamirpur & Mandi...
Most of the times marriages take place at home, but the trend is slowly changing where the main ceremony takes place in marriage halls, that are more approachable to everyone...
