Full moon sitting on a snow covered hill of Himalayan Mountain Ranges in Himachal Pradesh, INDIA

TFirst of all, it's not full moon but looked like that only !!! It was early morning at Sarahan Village in Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh and moon was still very clear in the sky... We went for a morning walk towards the government and came back to our camp, but still the moon was clearly visible in the sky ! I though of capturing it in my Travelling Camera and incidently the moment I clicked the photographs, it looked like a sitting moon on top of a Hill capped with fresh snow !!!.

A wonderful view of Dhauladhar Mountain Ranges covered with snow

Recently I visited a village called Pathiar which is very famous for high quality potatoes and many companies like Lays take most of the Potato crop from this region ! This village is exactly under Dhauladhar Mountain Ranges near Palampur. Apart from beauty, all the these mountains provide magical energy to Himalayan land to grow world's famous Kangra-Tea and Potatoes...

Main places to visit in Himachal Pradesh : DALHOUSIE

Dalhousie, Himachal Pradesh, Snow,When I headed out for Dalhousie, I had no idea that a surprise awaited me. SNOW. My first ever!! Here are some pics.Freshly fallen Snow with Tyre Tracks. It was Slippery. I had to be very careful. My guide duly warned me of the dangers.Bright-Colors Look Incredible against the black and white back ground. No wonder the Bollywood Actresses prefer do away with woollens when shooting in freezing cold. A huge pile of snow. Unlike the first picture, this was far more compacted and lookeda little muddy. It took a lot of courage to maintain a straight face in the chill.Couldn't take it any more and put the jacket back on. Wasn't done with the snow though and got some more pics clicked. Many of them didn't turn out to be good. But thankfully a handful came out alright. My guide told me that this was actually what is called a Nalla locally. It is so different from the Nallas in Delhi.Children playing around.

Dalhousie is a very beautiful hill station of Himachal Pradesh. Its very calm and small town with amazing weather.. There is amazing view to Peer Panjal Range...

Snow covered Hills on the way from Manali to Rohtang, Himachal Pradesh, INDIA: Rohtang pass provides a natural divide between the sub-humid/humid Kullu Valley with a primarily Hindu culture (in the south), and the arid/semi-arid high-altitude Lahaul and Spiti valleys with a Buddhist culture (in the north). rotang pass lies on the watershed between the Chenab and Beas Basins. On the southern side of this pass, the Beas River emerges from underground and flows southward and on its northern side, the Chandra River, a source stream of the river Chenab, flows westward.Posted by Ripple (VJ) on PHOTO JOURNEY through www.travellingcamera.com @ www.travellingcamera.com : ripple, Vijay Kumar Sharma, ripple4photography, Frozen Moments, photographs, Photography, ripple (VJ), VJ, Ripple (VJ) Photography, Capture Present for Future, Freeze Present for Future, ripple (VJ) Photographs , VJ Photographs, Ripple (VJ) Photography : (35km from Manali) Marhi is as famous as Rohtang pass. Posted by Ripple (VJ) on PHOTO JOURNEY @ www.travellingcamera.com : Roadside views on the way to Marhi(Rohtang Pass La) from Manali @ Himachal Pradesh, INDIA: Marhi is in Himachal Pradesh, India, located midway between Manali and Rohtang La on the Manali-Leh Highway. Buses traveling the highway often stop in Marhi so that passengers can eat. ripple, Vijay Kumar Sharma, ripple4photography, Frozen Moments, photographs, Photography, ripple (VJ), VJ, Ripple (VJ) Photography, Capture Present for Future, Freeze Present for Future, ripple (VJ) Photographs , VJ Photographs, Ripple (VJ) Photography : Himachali People playing Gajjus near Marhi... : Gajju drums are seen mostly in the Kulu, Kinnaur, Lahaul and Sirmaur Districts of Himachal Pradesh. They are kept in monasteries and temples to be used in the times of any religious festival or Pujas. People belonging to certain tribes prefer Gajju over other rhythm instruments and they play it in various social functions. The tribal dances where the men and the women dance together wearing colorful attires are incomplete without the magical rhythms of Gajju.: The Gajjus are played in different fairs and carnivals. Auspicious occasions like weddings, births etc. are welcomed with the beating of the Gajjus. The Gajju players lead the religious processions and thus they are an inseparable part of the festivities.

The local name for Rohtang pass is a generic name of pass. There are many other passes in Lahoul and Spitti which have specific names (Kunzom La, Bara Lachala n so on). This is suggestive of the fact that this must have been the oldest and most frequented pass in the region, or the fact that it is the main pass leading from one cultural region (Indian) to another, quite different one, to the north.Rohtang pass provides a natural divide between the sub-humid/humid Kullu Valley with a primarily Hindu culture (in the south), and the arid/semi-arid high-altitude Lahaul and Spiti valleys with a Buddhist culture (in the north). rotang pass lies on the watershed between the Chenab and Beas Basins.
