People belonging to certain tribes prefer Gajju over other rhythm instruments and they play it in various social functions. The tribal dances where the men and the women dance together wearing colorful attires are incomplete without the magical rhythms of Gajju.: The Gajjus are played in different fairs and carnivals. Auspicious occasions like weddings, births etc. are welcomed with the beating of the Gajjus. The Gajju players lead the religious processions and thus they are an inseparable part of the festivities.

The local name for Rohtang pass is a generic name of pass. There are many other passes in Lahoul and Spitti which have specific names (Kunzom La, Bara Lachala n so on). This is suggestive of the fact that this must have been the oldest and most frequented pass in the region, or the fact that it is the main pass leading from one cultural region (Indian) to another, quite different one, to the north.Rohtang pass provides a natural divide between the sub-humid/humid Kullu Valley with a primarily Hindu culture (in the south), and the arid/semi-arid high-altitude Lahaul and Spiti valleys with a Buddhist culture (in the north). rotang pass lies on the watershed between the Chenab and Beas Basins. Bhagsunag Waterfall @ Mcleoganj, Dharmshala, Himachal Pradesh

POSTED BY RIPPLE (VJ) on PHOTO JOURNEY : Waterfall near Bhagsu Temple @ Mcleodganj, Dharmshala, Himachal Pradesh: Bhagsu Nag temple is in Bhagsu Village about a km from McCleodganj. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and has great historical significance. About seven streams, like miniature waterfalls flow here and these are considered holy with cleansing properties by devotees. A freshwater spring also flows through the temple and bathing in its waters is considered a spiritual experience in itself. The village of Bhagsu is originally a tribal Gaddi village, but now many Israelis have made it their home offering services and working to support themselves. In fact many of the signs are written in Hebrew and Hebrew is spoken in the streets, making the village a strange combination of Indians and Israelis. The village is a good start-out place for hikes and treks.: Hills, Himachal, Colorful, Dharmshala, Upper Dharmshala, Waterfall, bhagsunag, Triund, Himachal Pradesh: Bhagsunag Waterfall @ Upper Dharmshala(Mcleodganj), Himachal Pradesh

Rewalsar Lake @ Mandi District, Himachal Pradesh

Posted by Ripple (VJ) : Rewalsar Lake is a mid altitude lake located in the Mandi district, 24 km from Mandi. Its elevation is about 1,360 m above sea level. The lake is shaped like a square with the shoreline of about 735 m. It is held as a sacred spot for Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists alike. Legend has it that the great teacher Padmasambhava (Guru Rimpoche) used his enormous power to take flight to Tibet from Rewalsar. In Rewalsar, his spirit is said to reside in the tiny island of floating reed that drifts over the water. There are three Buddhist monasteries at Rewalsar. Rewalsar has three Hindu temples which are dedicated to Lord Krishna, Lord Shiva and to the sage Lomas.ripple, Vijay Kumar Sharma, ripple4photography, Frozen Moments, photographs, Photography, ripple (VJ), VJ, Ripple (VJ) Photography, Capture Present for Future, Freeze Present for Future, ripple (VJ) Photographs , VJ Photographs, Ripple (VJ) Photography : A view of Rewalsar Lake from Rewalsar Zoo...

Typical view of Ranthambore National Park

Ranthambore wildlife sanctuary is famous for its tigers and is one of the best places in India to see these majestic predators in the jungle. Tigers can be easily spotted even during the day Time. Good time to visit Ranthambore National park is in November and May when the nature of the dry deciduous forests makes sightings common.
