Food Photography Workshop by Dinesh Khanna and Aditya Arya at APEX, Delhi, INDIA

This photograph is shot during Food Photography workshop last week-end, which was conducted by Academy of Photography Excellence. India's popular Food Photographers Dinesh Khanna and Aditya Arya took with one day workshop. Anjali was part of this crew as Food Stylist. She is brilliant at it and loved the way she did all food styling for the shoots we did during this workshop. Mobilegiri with a Kitten during MTB Trip in Himachal Pradesh, INDIA

In Oct'2011, I was in Himachal Pradesh and traversed various regions of Shimla, Kullu and Mandi Districts. During one of the camping stations, we found this cute kitten. She played with us for hours and also had some breakfast at our camp. It was sad but finally we had to move on  by leaving her with her Mom in nearby cottage. It was Shavadh, I remember the name correctly. This photograph is clicked with HTC Desire HD Mobile.

Viceregal Lodge or also known as Indian Institute of Advanced Studies is one of the best places to visit in Shimla Town. This Photograph is taken at same place. This a huge building having multiple corridors around it. This is one of the corridor in the backyard. The Cedar tree looks awesome through this huge window on other side of the corridor. Most of the part of this building in closed but some of the areas are accessible from outside. This whole campus has some beautiful gardens with lots of flowers and colorful plants.

Lunar Eclipse 2011 - 10th December

Most of the photographers in India were really excited on 10th December because we had lunar eclipse that day and it was in December, which is comparatively good for Dehlites.  Many photographers moved to different cities in India to shoot this Lunar Eclipse. Some of my friends had special permissions to shoot at various monuments in Delhi and I also joined one of the group at Humayun Tomb. I know this photograph is not very special, so will share the real project with all shapes of Moon with Humayun Tomb in foreground. Some of the casual shots can be seen HERE

I don't know what I should write about this photograph but can share a short story behind it at least :) ... One of my friend was doing some research on German Cigars and he had a latest update about smaller version of Cigars, which are not exactly cigarettes. These kind of cigars are handy and popular in some part of Germany. So he had brought few packets to show us. Usually I don't smoke but thought of trying one. Believe me, it was most bitter form of cigarette, I ever had.

Marriage band-master @ Pathiar, Kangra, Himachal Pradesh

Recently I attended my friend's marriage in Himachal. I was the first one to reach early and other friends were on the way... So had a good opportunities to see various things happening around and of course, there was hardly any other choice :) ... So I was listening to this band group. In Himachal band-group arrives one day before the barat day and they play during most of the ceremonies happen during the marriage. So every 30-45 minutes, they were playing various things like Aartis, Bollywood numbers, local folk etc. 

Usually in these band there is  leader who starts the song with a different music and other carry on further. The person in photograph is band-master who starts and guide through a song. You can notice the other person on left who is not playing anything right now. So he is just listening to the music his master is playing and then all of them will continue. While is proper mood, they do various experiments with songs we listen to. And many times these folk tunes are used by big composers in Bollywood !!!

A casual click while I was in Palampur for a marriage and searching for a shop for Kangra-Tea. This spider was in one of the corners of a momo shop at Chaupati !!!

Expressions are most effective communicators... Even in our day to day life, we meet people who say a lot with very few words... Their expressions say a lot and this art vary from one person to other... When it comes to Portrait Photography, expressions are very important because final photograph is interpreted on the basis of expressions and surroundings....

Mobile click of Radisson Hotel in Noida (Sector-18)

Sector-18 and GIP are main places in Noida to hang out during weekends... There is lot of parking space in front of Radisson, Noida... We usually park here and roam around... Even if we want to go to GIP, this is best place to park as GIP charge 3 times what we pay here :) ... And its hardly 8 minutes walk from this parking area to Great India Place...

Delhi Metro - It's too busy to be imagined !!!

Don't go by this photograph. Dilli Metro is too busy these days. Just after lunch we come out of office to have a some rounds of walk. Today we were discussing about increasing population of India and especially the metro cities like Delhi. Delhi has been working on increasing transport infrastructure in terms of Metro, Red colored AC buses etc, but still all these resources are extra utilized by people in Delhi. Even it's not very easy to match the pace of increasing populations in these cities.

Anyway, Metro has really made life easy when it comes to time. with increasing traffic on roads, one can't be sure of timings about reaching a place because unexpected jams my ruin all plans. In case of Metro, one can have some level of confidence on scheduling his/her day !!

One of the results from recent product-Shoot !!!

Recently I had a small session with one of the organization which create this kind of stuff out of leaves or wood etc and somehow I was very touched about this !!! This shoot was done for 2 Hrs and I was there with  Nikon D700 & few lens.. But there was no studio setup or artificial lighting.. Although I spend 20 mins on setting up a local lighting system with my Mobile-light and few other sources... 

I liked shooting all these products and somehow I felt this shoot very different from others I have done in past !!!
