Talking to God on first day of New Year (2012) @ Golden Temple, Amritsar, Punjab, India

Here is a boy in conversation with God to discuss the plans to make this year memorable for good things in life. Here is taking holy bath in Sarovar around Golden Temple of Amritsar.Golden Temple at Amritsar was over-crowded on 1st Jan 2012, as many folks from Punjab has come to this place for good beginning of the year and pray God for making 2012 a memorable year for good things in life. Amritsar being a very old city of India looks very scary during such special days, when whole Punjab is on street and there is hardly any space around. This was my third visit to Amritsar and now probably I will think twice to visit this city again. It's not tourist friendly and extremely inconvenient. But reaching at Golden Temple make you forget everything you see outside it.A Very Happy New Year to all of you again !!!

Dust Storm at 3rd JK TYRE OYA Auto Cross and Motorcross event in Mohali, Punjab, INDIA

On 24th Dec'2011, it was final round of various competition categories in OYA Motorport event in Chandigarh. The day was full of dust all around the place. I was standing very close to these tracks and a black bag converted into yellowish color after I came out. Dust was negligible when bikes were flying, but during car races, it was hard to see what exactly is happening. At times, it was not able to click photographs as well. And at one point of time only two cars were competing. Basically these folks note the time taken by each car on a particular track and finally the fastest one wins the race. To check out more photographs of the event, check out - OYA MOTORSPORTS

Here are few photographs of Punjab University, Chandigarh... : Panjab University is one of the oldest universities in India. The university campus is a residential one and spread over an area of 550 acres (2.2 km2) in sectors 14 and 25 of the city of Chandigarh. The main administrative and academic buildings are located in sector 14, beside a health centre, a sports complex, hostels and residential housing. The University has 58 teaching and research departments and 10 Centers/Chairs for teaching and research at the main campus located at Chandigarh. It has 172 affiliated colleges spread over Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh, Regional Centers at Muktsar, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur, and Swami Sarvanand Giri Panjab University Regional Centre, Hoshiarpur...I know many people in this department who joined this university to get hostel in Chandigarh for IAS preparations. One of my friend did M.Phil here and now appointed as Asst. Professor in same department.Department of Defence & National Security Studies: University Business School (formerly, Department of Commerce and Business Management) has been imparting quality management education to develop dedicated, innovative and effective managers, researchers and teachers for four decades. The rechristening of the Department of Commerce and Business Management as University Business School (UBS) in 1995 by the Panjab University, symbolizes the recognition of completeness and maturity of the Department as a center of management education in India. The transformation from a Department to a school has given it a distinct identity as a 'School of Thought'.

Sunset capture @ Pathankot Railway Station, PUNJAB

While I was traveling back from Dalhousie, I happened to be at the right place at the right time. Fortunately, the direction of the railway station is such that you can see the sun set behind the railway tracks. Pathankot, Railway, Station, Sunset

Pathankot is a major railroad junction. Lines from Amritsar (2 hrs) and Delhi (8 hrs) merge here and all services to Jammu (2 hrs) pass through. In addition to Pathankot station itself, there is a second station called Chakki Bank just 4 km away and serves some express trains that do not stop in Pathankot station. Nowadays the majority of the Jammu trains stop only at Chakki Bank and not at Pathankot.

In addition, Pathankot is also served by the narrow-gauge Kangra Valley Railway built by the British, which crawls 128 km to Joginder Nagar via Palampur and Kangra (near Dharamsala). However, the luxury Kangra Queen services were terminated back in 2003, leaving about 6 departures daily of slow, often packed second class trains, taking over six hours. Bookings for these can only be done locally at Pathankot station. Some of these trains run to Baijnath Paprola and a few to Joginder Nagar.

It runs north east to south west starting from the Transport Area round about to Sector 47 covering about 4 Kms. On both sides of the road 12 rows of mango of different varieties of dusheri, langra and chausa have been planted. This belt constitutes a complete tree buffer to protect the residential areas from the pollutants emanating from the factories and also from the heavy traffic moving along the Purv Marg. About 5000 mango trees are planted here.

Recently I was there in Chandigarh to attend a marriage. One of my friends in Chadigarh had bought Tata Nano and we planned to have a round from Mohali to Sukhna Lake. Road in above photograph is connecting Mohali to Chandigarh and beautiful trees indicating that we are near Chandigarh now...
