Shining Star on top of Pong Dam Lake near Nagrota in Kangra District of Himachal Pradesh, India || A Fish Eye Photograph

Here is a hotograph shot with a Fish Eye which gives wider view to a place as compared to standard lenses. Although distortion of this photograph have been fixed and we needed to crop the original photograph which has obviously reduced some view from all four directions. Fish eye lens clicks a photograph which looks spherical. Anyways, This is Pong Dam which is one of the popular destination of Migratory Birds in Himachal Pradesh. For more Photographs of Pong Dam with more details, check out - HERE

Lunar Eclipse 2011 - 10th December

Most of the photographers in India were really excited on 10th December because we had lunar eclipse that day and it was in December, which is comparatively good for Dehlites. Many photographers moved to different cities in India to shoot this Lunar Eclipse. Some of my friends had special permissions to shoot at various monuments in Delhi and I also joined one of the group at Humayun Tomb. I know this photograph is not very special, so will share the real project with all shapes of Moon with Humayun Tomb in foreground. Some of the casual shots can be seen HERE

Garden of five senses during evening @ Delhi , INDIA

Garden of Five Senses is a nice place maintained by Delhi Tourism and more popular among couples. There are some nice sculptures installed around the garden and look wonderful during evenings. I am not sure if these are lit everyday or for some special occasions.

Some unique trends of Old Delhi - Kabootarbazi !!!

Last weekend I visited Jama-Masjid in Old Delhi and also interacted few folks around this place. During the visit I met a very interesting family who also offered me to come on roof-top to have a different view of Old Delhi (Dilli-6). On roof-top, there were approximately 60 pigeons. One of the gentleman also told be about a unique trend of Old Delhi. All these pigeons fly in a group and at times they make a huge groups of around 1000 pigeons. When any of the owner ask his/her group to come back, most of the others also prefer to check at home. During such flights, at times some pigeons plan to join other group and go to other house. In this case original owner loose the right to get that pigeon back. If s/he wants that pigeon back, appropriate money needs to be paid as per breed of that pigeon. And this payment has no guarantee that pigeon will not go to other groups. This thing is religiously followed in Old Delhi region !!!

Jama Masjid - A day after Eid

This is one of the photograph taken at India's largest mosque in Old Delhi - Jama Masjid !! This place is always surrounded by pigeons flying here and there. I waited for approximately 15 minutes to take this shot as movement is random most of the times. Luckily I didn't have to wait very long to get the right composition. This is what I wanted and I was happy to see the results. Hope to visit Jama Masjid again and come up with more photographs !!!

Sunset time in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, INDIA

Somehow capturing sunset is very exciting for every photographer and everyone tries to do something different during this time and it provide various opportunities to click magical portraits, Silhouettes, colorful layers etc !!! It's ben more than four years that I am doing photography and passion for sunset photographs has not come down. One fine day, one of the photographer was giving his thoughts about progression in photography and he mentioned that sunset is ideal time for a beginner to shot, and can be more exciting for professionals who may not want to shoot sunsets anymore !!!

Wondeful view of full-moon sitting on top of snow covered hills of Himalayas !!!

Himachal Pradesh being my native state, I have huge love for these hills and I love to be closer to these. Although my profession keeps me busy in big cities, but there is always an urge to go back to Himachal and do something on my homeland... Hope I would be able to take appropriate decision sometime soon !!! This Photographs was taken during my last year trip to Kullu Sarahan. It's a small village isolated from various main cities/towns of Himachal and a wonderful place to spend your vacations... Hope to visit it this year as well !!!

Firozshah Kotla Stadium in Panoramic form

Somehow Cricket news have been reduced for last few months. One of the reasons is shift of focus from Cricket to other more important things for our country and other reason is bad performance of our Cricket Team I guess :) ... Although I am not sure if performance is really bad or it's just me who think so !btw, I am not a Cricket fan but love to join friends for short span of time. T20 fits better for me to experience the passion of Cricket in stadiums and joining my friends to support their regional teams :)

Is this Monsoon Rain today?

It's very odd when you get a telephone call at 7:00 am on sunday morning ! I was sleeping and was not in a state to talk well.. I asked my friend to have another nap and we shall chat during the day... Just after disconnecting the phone, I heard the sounds outing... Initially I was not very sure if it is rain sound or someone is watering the plants... But soon after listening continuously to this, it was confirmed that it's rain :) Finally time arrived to say Good Morning Sunday - 11:01 am and rain was still in it's mood.. It seems that Sunday will be a rainy day today... But is it beginning of Monsoons as well?

Hawkers selling Chip and Pop-corns around India Gate in Delhi, INDIA

A female hawker selling some chips at India gate in Delhi (INDIA). There are lot of such options like chana-jor-garam, Golgappas, bhel-puri etc... All these folks do find some buyers and it is good that these people get to earn their livings as well. The only problem is cleanliness around the place. People find it too tough to walk to one of the abundant dustbins in the area to dispose of their plastic wastes and instead prefer to leave it lying in the green grass or on the roads... although people get everything cleaned next morning but over the time these places have become stinky and all the greenery has been ruined due to these bad habbits. Recently I read a very good article on Ghumakkar - "The Litterbug Revolution" and very much liked it !!! Just have a look !!!

Roads near Naukuchiataal in Uttrakhand state of INDIA

Paragliding @ Naukuchiataal, Uttrakhand state of INDIA : During recent trip to Naukuchiataal, all of our office folks tried Paragliding and it was a great fun... Its 6 kilometers form the lake and one has to trek 400 meters to take off for the flight :): Here is our first hero to take the flight in the air.. Paraglider take off from a cliff and land down in a village near to the lake... Its 15-20 minutes ride depending upon the flow of the air... They charge 1300 rs for that.. I had already done paragliding at SONLANG Valley near Manali in Himachal Pradesh and BIR BILLING in Kangra Valley... So it was not worth spending 1300 .. For first time experience, its worth... Also one can negotiate to get a deal for 800-1000 in case group comprises of more than 5... : After feeling the excitment, most of my friends tried a ride in air... during the ride, many of them thought that I am clicking their photographs ... and you know... there was no pic with clear face :( : One of our friend screaming while taking off for the flight in air.... Road connecting lake and the place where paragliding happens... This road was very beutiful and had few patches on the way...Coloful hills arond paragliding area at Naukuchiataal... This is a view of hills parallel to the place where paragliders take off.... Tarun and his family taking rest on the half way while climbing to paragliding club.... Another photograph of the road leading to Pragaliding place from Naukuchiataal.. All of them want to try paragliding and waiting for gliders to come back.... Actually there were only 5 gliders there and they used to take them back from the landing place... All this used to take 30 minutes at least... A view of the lake from Paragliding place @ Naukuchiataal, Uttrakhand, INDIA... This is the landmark to find out the place where paragliding happens in Naukuchiataal... When we were driving towards it, we moved ahead and missed this board.... after some distance, we asked a gentleman on the way and got to know that borad was the point form where we had to climb to a small hill... Every night they used to service their bikes and do some test rides around camp side... Most of them were expert in repairing their machines ... Heated Ride - Riders crossing chilling Forests on Himalayas... On second last day we were crossing through a very dense forest and everyone was shivering with the cold... I mean all photographers...
