FROZEN MOMENT - Here is a Photograph from my recent visit to Himachal during Holi vacations. While going to Hamirpur from Delhi, this lake comes on the way near Una and known as Govind Sagar Lake which is a part of Satluj River. This lake was created during initiation of Bhakhra Hydro Project. Although this lake has snatched land of many folks around the place, but at the same time they have got new opportunities to earn their livings. More photographs of Govind Sagar Lake can be checked - HERE

Palampur : One of my dream place to live !!!

Here is one of the photographs clicked just after getting out of Bus Stand at Palampur ! It's such a lovely town and believe me, it's not possible to explain the qualities of this town in words. One has to visit the place to feel the difference between this town and others in Hills and even if we compare it with modern facilities of big cities or Metros. Although it would be bad if we compare this beautiful town with big cities like Delhi ! To check more photographs of Palampur Click Here...

TFirst of all, it's not full moon but looked like that only !!! It was early morning at Sarahan Village in Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh and moon was still very clear in the sky... We went for a morning walk towards the government and came back to our camp, but still the moon was clearly visible in the sky ! I though of capturing it in my Travelling Camera and incidently the moment I clicked the photographs, it looked like a sitting moon on top of a Hill capped with fresh snow !!!.

A wonderful view of Dhauladhar Mountain Ranges covered with snow

Recently I visited a village called Pathiar which is very famous for high quality potatoes and many companies like Lays take most of the Potato crop from this region ! This village is exactly under Dhauladhar Mountain Ranges near Palampur. Apart from beauty, all the these mountains provide magical energy to Himalayan land to grow world's famous Kangra-Tea and Potatoes...

All these photographs have been clicked during one of m Dalhousie trip... Dalhousie Mall Road has amazing views to PIR PANJAL mountain range... Here are few photographs of PIR PANJAL which are clicked from Mall Road @ Dalhousie, Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, INDIA Dalhousie Mall road starts from Subhash chowk and this photograph has been clicked after few minutes of walk from Subhash Chowk.. towards main market of Dalhousie, also known as Gandhi Chowk...The eastern segment of the range forms the watershed that separates the Chenab (Chandrabhaga) river basin from the Beas and Ravi river basins...Zoomed view of PIR PANJAL from middle of the Mall Road @ Dalhousie, Chamba, Himachal Pradesh... I have used Nikon D90 with 18-200mm to click all these photograph.. and most of them are clicked in the evening....Rohtang La is a mountain pass on the eastern Pir Panjal range. It connects Manali in the Kullu Valley to Keylong in the Lahaul Valley. ..This is clicked from Gandhi Chowk and the green hill on the right is the one where Dalhousie Public School is situated... Its very popular boarding school in Himachal Pradesh...Haji Pir Pass is a mountain pass on the western Pir Panjal range between Poonch and Uri (India).Haji Pir Pass is an important outpost manned by the Pakistan Army. The pass witnessed Pakistani aggression during both the 1965 and 1971 wars. India captured this pass in the 1965 war due to lack of Pakistani strength in that area and was later returned to Pakistan during exchange of each others territories. During the 1971 war, Pakistan army repulsed to Indian attacks on the post. This pass today continues to be part of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir...Clouds moving up from PIR PANJAL mountains... and let me share that Dalhousie gets heavy rainfall in himachal pradesh ... snowfall also...Deo Tibba (6001 m) and Indrasan (6221 m) are two important peaks at the eastern end of the mountain range. They can be approached from both the Parbati-Beas Valley (Kulu District) and the Chandra (Upper Chenab) Valley (Lahaul and Spiti District) in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The hill stations of Gulmarg in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir lies in this range.

Last year when I visited Dalhousie, I realized how different it is from other hill stations... It has marvelous views of snow caped hills on one side of the Mall Road in Dalhousie... and these views can't be compared with others ... Like I have seen  Dhauladhar from Palampur but it has view to few hills, but here in Dalhousie, its series of mountains... all covered with snow and have a unique shine during the evenings...

Main places to visit in Himachal Pradesh : DALHOUSIE

Dalhousie, Himachal Pradesh, Snow,When I headed out for Dalhousie, I had no idea that a surprise awaited me. SNOW. My first ever!! Here are some pics.Freshly fallen Snow with Tyre Tracks. It was Slippery. I had to be very careful. My guide duly warned me of the dangers.Bright-Colors Look Incredible against the black and white back ground. No wonder the Bollywood Actresses prefer do away with woollens when shooting in freezing cold. A huge pile of snow. Unlike the first picture, this was far more compacted and lookeda little muddy. It took a lot of courage to maintain a straight face in the chill.Couldn't take it any more and put the jacket back on. Wasn't done with the snow though and got some more pics clicked. Many of them didn't turn out to be good. But thankfully a handful came out alright. My guide told me that this was actually what is called a Nalla locally. It is so different from the Nallas in Delhi.Children playing around.

Dalhousie is a very beautiful hill station of Himachal Pradesh. Its very calm and small town with amazing weather.. There is amazing view to Peer Panjal Range...

Hamirpur in a cloudy day

Posted by Ripple (VJ) : My Homoetown : Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh : Early Morning view from Town-bharadi @ Hamirpur

Hamirpur district is the smallest district in Himachal Pradesh. Its full of enchanting pine trees and rivers. The people have inherited a rich folk literature which is occasionally exhibited during the marriage, fairs and festivals.

There is a famous temple Baba Balak Nath where people from all over Himachal and Punjab visit in a large to get the blessings.

Hamirpur is located in a relatively warmer region with a lower altitude as compared to the other districts of the state.
