Motorboats waiting for Passengers at Govind Sagar Lake in Una Region of Himachal Pradesh, India

Here is a Photograph from my recent visit to Himachal during Holi vacations. While going to Hamirpur from Delhi, this lake comes on the way near Una and known as Govind Sagar Lake which is a part of Satluj River. This lake was created during initiation of Bhakhra Hydro Project. Although this lake has snatched land of many folks around the place, but at the same time they have got new opportunities to earn their livings. Above photograph shows a very small portion of this lake. Govind Sagar is a huge lake spread in two districts of Himachal Pradesh covering hundreds of kilometers.

Here is a photograph shot with a Fish Eye which gives wider view to a place as compared to standard lenses. Although distortion of this photograph have been fixed and we needed to crop the original photograph which has obviously reduced some view from all four directions. Fish eye lens clicks a photograph which looks spherical. Anyways, This is Pong Dam which is one of the popular destination of Migratory Birds in Himachal Pradesh. Boy having holy bath at Golden Temple, Amritsar (Punjab State of India) || Beginning of New Year 2012

This photograph is clicked on 1st Jan, 2012. This Boy was having holy bath at Golden Temple on a chilling morning with mist all around. 

There were lot of folks from various parts of Punjab and surrounding states at Golden Temple. I have been to this place many times, but this time it was too much crowded and there was hardly some space to freely move around. Everyone wanted to start the New Year with God's blessing.

Tani Jubber Lake near Thanedar in Shimla region of Himachal Pradesh, INDIA

Here is a photograph of Tani Jubber Lake which is near Thanedar and Narkanda.... It's not a very popular tourist destination but a wonderful place to spend some time while roaming around Shimla or going towards Kinnaur... Since it's not popular, it's very well maintained and clean :) ... Will be posting a complete PHOTO JOURNEY on this lake soon...

Green Resort: Lake Village Resort in Naukuchiataal, Uttrakhand, INDIA

Last year, our office outing was planned for hills and Uttrakhand being the nearest hilly state, we thought of visiting Naukuchiyataal in UK :)


At Naukuchiyataal, we stayed at Lake Village Resort and it was a wonderful place to stay around the lake... Resort was spacious, green and safe !!! Part from normal facilities inside the resort, they also arrange for kayaking, boating, paragliding, paint ball etc... All of us enjoyed a lot and no one can miss the  evening masti around bonfire and DJ !!

I was just looking through some old photographs and liked this particular photograph which was clicked during our office trip to Naukuchiataal last year. During the evening there was a music band performing at the place where everyone was near bon-fire. This band was enough to ignite the musical sense of some folks and they were also singing along. btw, there were some very talented folks in our group who knew singing, guitar and many other musical instruments... We stayed in Lake Village resort and they had planned this for us.

A series of flower pots on the widows of Lake Village Resort at Naukuchiataal !!! It was a good experience staying there... Lovely flora and Fauna around the cottages and suites they have !! This Resort is just in front of the lake where road ends... The point from where boats ca be hired to have a ride in the lake.. Events like Boating, Kayaking and paintball are organized by resort staff  !!!

Lake Village Resort is just in front of Naukuchiataal lake and recently we visited this place with office friends.. There were few pillars around swimming pool of the resort and architectural form of these pillars was completely different from overall designs of cottages and villas there.. Probably these pillars were installed to cover swimming pool with some designer roof....
