Wonderful views of Pir Panjal Himalyan mountain Range around Dalhousie in Himachal Pradesh

View of Peer Panjal Mountain Range from Dalhousie @ Himachal Pradesh, INDIA : Posted by VJ SHARMA at www.travellingcamera.com : Pir Panjal Range is a mountain range in the Middle Himalayas running from east south east to west north west across the states of Himachal Pradesh and Indian administered Kashmir in the Republic of India as well as Pakistan administered Kashmir... All these photographs have been clicked during one of m Dalhousie trip... Dalhousie Mall Road has amazing views to PIR PANJAL mountain range... Here are few photographs of PIR PANJAL which are clicked from Mall Road @ Dalhousie, Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, INDIA Dalhousie Mall road starts from Subhash chowk and this photograph has been clicked after few minutes of walk from Subhash Chowk.. towards main market of Dalhousie, also known as Gandhi Chowk...The eastern segment of the range forms the watershed that separates the Chenab (Chandrabhaga) river basin from the Beas and Ravi river basins...Zoomed view of PIR PANJAL from middle of the Mall Road @ Dalhousie, Chamba, Himachal Pradesh... I have used Nikon D90 with 18-200mm to click all these photograph.. and most of them are clicked in the evening....Rohtang La is a mountain pass on the eastern Pir Panjal range. It connects Manali in the Kullu Valley to Keylong in the Lahaul Valley. ..This is clicked from Gandhi Chowk and the green hill on the right is the one where Dalhousie Public School is situated... Its very popular boarding school in Himachal Pradesh...Haji Pir Pass is a mountain pass on the western Pir Panjal range between Poonch and Uri (India).Haji Pir Pass is an important outpost manned by the Pakistan Army. The pass witnessed Pakistani aggression during both the 1965 and 1971 wars. India captured this pass in the 1965 war due to lack of Pakistani strength in that area and was later returned to Pakistan during exchange of each others territories. During the 1971 war, Pakistan army repulsed to Indian attacks on the post. This pass today continues to be part of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir...Clouds moving up from PIR PANJAL mountains... and let me share that Dalhousie gets heavy rainfall in himachal pradesh ... snowfall also...Deo Tibba (6001 m) and Indrasan (6221 m) are two important peaks at the eastern end of the mountain range. They can be approached from both the Parbati-Beas Valley (Kulu District) and the Chandra (Upper Chenab) Valley (Lahaul and Spiti District) in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The hill stations of Gulmarg in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir lies in this range.

Last year when I visited Dalhousie, I realized how different it is from other hill stations... It has marvelous views of snow caped hills on one side of the Mall Road in Dalhousie... and these views can't be compared with others ... Like I have seen  Dhauladhar from Palampur but it has view to few hills, but here in Dalhousie, its series of mountains... all covered with snow and have a unique shine during the evenings...

Is there anyu relationship between Monsoons-2010 and Common Wealth Games 2010?

Noida parks flooded with water after rains 2010 - Sector-26 : Monsoon Effect in Noida : Posted by VJ SHARMA at www.travellingcamera.com : This weekend I had to go for a Photo-Walk at Old Fort in Delhi but due to heavy rains I canceled that program and woke up at 11:30 am on Sunday... After that I came out and noticed that many areas in my sector were flooded with water and the park near my house was completely filled with rain water in it.. Here are few photographs of the Sector-26 park after rains on Sunday...Here was the first few I saw in the morning... and then want back to my room to have Camera for capturing these moments :-)One part of Sector-26 park in Noida... where everything is flooded in water and one can walk on the concrete pathways on all four sides...I have seen worst condition of Noida after rains this year... I have been staying here for last 5 years and never seen this kind of after-effects of rains... Noida which is short for the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority, is an area under the management of the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority... Noida has first-class amenities and is considered to be one of the more modern cities of Uttar Pradesh State of India. It is also home to the Noida Film City...Arre bhai kahan jaoon.. har jagah Paani hi Paani...Fresh green leaves after rains...When it rains, look up rather than down. Without the rain, there would be no rainbow...Noida is a major hub for multinational firms outsourcing IT services... Many large Software and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies have their offices in the city...Generally noida is green and well planned as compared to other cities in UP.... although many of outsiders don't find it a good city to live...Here is the bench where we used to spend lot of time after dinner... Many times plan for morning walks but finally stick to this bench....Rains, Rains go away... please...some reflections inside the water... Hope it gets dry in short time...Reflection of colorful benches in Sector-26 Park in Noida...Water, Water... Everywhere water... no place to sit and no place to play around...Can we store this water somewhere? Many times I see folks in Sector-26 who waste lot of water for washing their multiple cars in summers when some of the areas in Noida doesn't get enough water for their routine activities... but now rains have already washed their cars :-)Its sad that children were not able to enjoy/play outside due to these heavy rains... DND Flyway between Delhi and Noida

Dilli Bhraman in Monsoons to check out the state of the city before CWG 2010 (Common Wealth Games) : Posted by VJ SHARMA @ www.travellingcamera.com : On a weekend, we were discussing overall progress of Delhi in last few months for Common Wealth Games.. and there were many debates happening on dinner table.. After some time we decided to have a round of Delhi next day to see what all is happening... Here are few photographs with some brief details about this journey which started from Noida...Yellow-&-Green Auto-Rikshaws are identity of Delhi and first attempt was to find an auto at reasonable cost for a day, which is very difficult task in Noida.. We hired one till Mayur Vihar Phase-1 to catch another friend there... After leaving Noida, we saw a fly-over where construction was going on and most of us thought that its impossible to complete it before CWG.. Lets see what happens...One of the Stadium near Safdarjung Tomb in Delhi...Its probably Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium... Just found another photograph of this stadium with nice details @ http://www.prlog.org/10899688-jawaharlal-nehru-stadium-features-tensile-membrane-fabric-roof-from-birdair-inc.html Green Delhi... I love all the drives around India Gate and CP.. These areas are comparatively green and clean... As you must have noticed that suddenly the main idea disappeared after some time.. I mean, after lunch no one was interested in exploring CWG progress... Here is a photograph of DND which connects Delhi with Noida... Its not allowed to stop the car on DND, so its clicked from moving car having tinted glasses :-) Another photograph of Wide roads of Delhi with sufficient greenery around...Some decorative stuff planted in the center of INA flyovers... INDIA GATE in Capital City DELHI

View of India Gate from President's House: Posted by VJ: The India Gate is the national monument of India. It is one of the largest war memorials in India. Situated in the heart of New Delhi, India Gate was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. Originally known as All India War Memorial, it is a prominent landmark in Delhi and commemorates the 90,000 soldiers of the erstwhile British Indian Army who lost their lives fighting for the British Indian Empire, or more correctly the British Empire in India British Raj in World War I and the Afghan Wars.It is made up of red sand stone and granite.: VJ, ripple, Vijay Kumar Sharma, ripple4photography, Frozen Moments, photographs, Photography, ripple (VJ), VJ, Ripple (VJ) Photography, VJ-Photography, Capture Present for Future, Freeze Present for Future, ripple (VJ) Photographs , VJ Photographs, Ripple (VJ) : The 42-metre tall India Gate is situated such that many important roads spread out from it. Beautiful Himachal

Solang Valley revisited for paragliding again... : Posted by VJ SHARMA at www.travellingcamera.com : Last year one of my friend who was free in April after his financial year in office and wanted to do something adventurous... He work as Development Officer in Palampur which is very near to Billing (World famous place for Paragliding), but he chose to come to Solang to have a Paragliding experience near snow covered hills... Here are few photographs from that trip...Here is first view of green Solang Valley after leaving our car in the parking on road-side... Marhi is another place near Manali to enjoy paragliding and considered as another good place to have different experience on top of snow covered hills...Road from Manali to Solnag Valley is beautiful and having different views of River, Hills, Valley and snow covered hills... There is a military camp across Beas River which loooks amazing and almost everyone dream of a home at that location :-)View from valley are amazing... We also trekked to a hill which is opposite to Solang Valley and we were literally mocing through clouds... It was amazing weather when we reached on the top... Clouds were moving very fast and we were also able to see other gliders near Marhi, which is on very high hills on the way to Rohtang Pass...At Solang Valley, they offer para-glider ride from different places based on height and areal view to the valley... My friend tried the flight from highest point in Solang valley which can be reached after 45 minutes of trek to the hill top on left side of this valley... They asked for 2K and finally we paid 1300 for this ride... It was 15 minute ride in air and we realized that we should have negotiated more for this :-) Also this duration depends upon the air-flow, this is told by experts there ;-)
